Comments polices of Tasmanian news websites are:
- The Mercury: "Comments are submitted for possible publication on the condition that they may be edited. Please provide your full name. We also require a working email address - not for publication, but for verification. The location field is optional." The publication guidelines overwhelmingly address various legal issues such as copyright.[1] The Mercury allows posts by people using pseudonyms.
- The Examiner: "We welcome your comments which may be published in northerntasmania.yourguide and/or the The Examiner Newspaper newspaper. Please provide all the required information below. Only your name and suburb will be published. NOTE: Your submission may be edited prior to publication and a correct email and telephone number must be entered for verification purposes ... If your comment is in reference to an article please quote the article's title and date published."[2]
- The Advocate uses the same Fairfax template as The Examiner.
