The Kestrel Mine West coal project is an undeveloped coal deposit in Queensland in which Rio Tinto Coal Australia has a 71.2% interest. Rio Tinto Coal Australia states that the project has 762 million tonnes of reserves of which 698 million tonnes are indicated and 64 million tonnes are inferred..[1]
The project is located north north-west of Emerald.[2]
