Vermont East coal project is a coal mine project under consideration by Macarthur Coal. The project is located 40 kilometres south of Springsure in Central Queensland and 25 kilometres west of Xstrata's Rolleston Mine.

The company states on its website that "Thermal coal for the domestic and export markets in four seams similar to those which occur at Rolleston Mine, 25 kilometers to the east". The company describes the status of the project as "a grassroots prospect that has progressed to the preliminary mine planning stage for EPC 786. Additional resources are to be sought alongstrike in recently granted EPCs 871 and 896".[1]
