Yancoal Australia is a wholly owned subsidiary of Yanzhou Coal Mining Company Limited in the People's Republic of China. On its website, Yancoal states that it "owns and operates eight mines in China with ISO 9001 quality certification and ISO 14001 environmental certification".[1]
Yancoal owns the Austar Coal Mine. It also owns Felix Resources, which in turn owns two coal mines in the Hunter Valley in New South Wales: the Ashton Coal Mine and the Moolarben Coal Mine. Felix Resources also owns the Yarrabee Coal Mine and the Minerva Coal Mine in the Bowen Basin in Queensland.[2]
The company also owns the Harrybrandt Project and has a 51% interest in the Athena Project.[2]
