Background on Plant

In February 2008, Modern Enerji (a subsidiary of Eren Holding) applied to build a 320-MW coal-fired power plant in Zonguldak province.

More recent information on this proposal is not available, and this project is not mentioned on the subpage for Modern Enerji on Eren's website. Eren's ZETES power station project is also located in Çatalağzı district; it would appear that that project has superseded the Zonguldak Modern project.
