The ASF Group describes itself as "a creator and facilitator of two-way cross-border investments, trade and technology transfers between China and Australia." On its website the company states that its focus is "to work with its principal Chinese partners to invest in and develop current and new platforms for growth in Australian resources exploration, raw materials trading, real estate and financial services."[1]

Coal interests
- ASF Resources Limited (ASFR). The company holds 8 exploration licences in the Canning Basin in the Kimberley region of Western Australia. ASF, which holds 48% of the company, states that ASFR's "drilling program will initially focus on its tenements that adjoin Rey Resources Limited’s JORC-compliant Duchess Paradise coal tenements."[2]
- ASF Energy was established "to sell Australian resources to commercially-strategic partners of ASF in China. The initial trial shipment of 41,000 tonnes of Australian coal was sold to China Huaneng Group, a major power supplier in Shanghai."[3]
