New projects
The BSEB has embarked on a major coal-fired expansion program, either through direct involvement in projects or by purchasing power from private generators. BSEB has also proposed the establishment of a nuclear power station.[1]

BSEB has also entered into memorandum of understandings and agreements with Independent Power Producers to purchase power from a number of new privately built power stations. These are:[2]
