The Byerwen Coal Project is a coal mine project being developed by Byerwen Coal Pty Ltd, a subsidiary of QCoal Pty Ltd. in conjunction with JFE Steel The proposed mine is located approximately 30 km west of Glenden and 100 km south of Collinsville.

A feasibility study on the project is currently being undertaken and the notional commissioning date of the project is 2012. The project would produce 10 million tonnes of coal a year.[1]
