Human Rights Education Associates
Human Rights Education Associates (HREA) was founded in 1996 [1] and "is an international non-governmental organisation that supports human rights learning; the training of activists and professionals; the development of educational materials and programming; and community-building through on-line technologies. HREA is dedicated to quality education and training to promote understanding, attitudes and actions to protect human rights, and to foster the development of peaceable, free and just communities.

"Through the Global Human Rights Education (HRE) listserv, HREA has a network of over 3,600 human rights educators in 150 countries. Through its sister listservs in Russia, Latin America, Francophone Africa and Asia – which HREA helped to initiate with partner organizations –the online global HRE community currently includes 13,000 individuals and organizations." Funding
In the 2004-05 period "The United States also funded the international NGO Global Rights to promote women's legal literacy and to help implement reforms to the family status code (Moudawana) as well as providing assistance to Human Rights Education Associates to help implement Moudawana reforms." (In Morocco) [4]
HREA's Youth for Human Rights project "is generously funded by the Netherlands Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Ford Foundation and the Open Society Institute's Middle East & North Africa Initiative." [5]
