JFE Steel Corporation is a Japanese steel company which operates six steelworks.

Coal interests

The Australian Bureau of Agricultural and Resource Economics lists JFE Steel Corporation as being in a joint venture with QCoal which is proposing the Byerwen Coal Project in Queensland.[1] The company is has a 20% stake in the project.[2]

The company is also one of the joint venture partners in the Sonoma Coal Mine in the Bowen Basin in Queensland.[3]
