Background

In 2018 Engie arranged to sell the plant to English firm ContourGlobal but ultimately backed out of the deal in the belief the plant was undervalued.[2] In September 2019 Engie stated that it was again seeking buyers for the plant as part of its plan to decarbonize its energy portfolio.[3]
