Leigh Creek mine

{{#badges:CoalSwarm|Navbar-Australiacoal}}The Leigh Creek mine is a brown coal mine operated by Alinta Energy Services, a subsidiary of Alinta Energy. In 2006/2007 the mine produced 3.88 million tonnes of coal which was solely used in the Playford Power Station and the Northern Power Station.

Rehabilitation

On its website the Department of Primary Industries and Resources South Australia states "while mining continues from Lobe B, rehabilitation of the north fields Lobe C and D is continuing. Visible dragline spoil heaps are being flattened to a 1 in 6 gradient and covered by topsoil and seeded. Regrowth has been poor this year because of persistent drought."
