Maithon Power Ltd is a joint venture company by Damodar Valley Corporation (DVC) and Tata Power formed to develop the Maithon Right Bank Thermal Power Station, a proposed 1050 megawatt (MW) coal-fired power station on the right bank of the Barakar River in Dhanbad District of Jharkhand, India. (DVC also refers elsewhere on its website as the project being a 1000MW project).[1]

On one page on DVC's website the proposed units were proposed to be commissioned in August 2010 and February 2011.[1]
