Peabody Energy Australia is a subsidiary oif the US-headquartered coal company, Peabody Energy.

Existing mines
Peabody Energy Australia currently operates the following mines[1]
- Burton Mine in Queensland;
- North Goonyella/Eaglefield Complex in Queensland;
- Millennium Mine in Queensland;
- Wilkie Creek Mine in Queensland;
- Wilpinjong Mine in New South Wales;
- Wambo Mine in New South Wales; and
- Metropolitan Mine in New South Wales;
Until December 2009 Peabody Energy Australia owned the Chain Valley Mine on the southern shore of Lake Macquarie in New South Wales. In December 2009 the mine was sold to LDO Coal.[2]
