The port contains a bulk cargo terminal that handles coal, iron, and phosphates. It can transport 15,000 tonnes (33,000,000 lb) of cargo per day. It also has a petroleum coke terminal.[2] The dry bulk terminal has a total annual capacity of 4 million tonnes per annum (mtpa), and 2.8 mtpa for coal.[3]

Ploce power station was a proposed 800-megawatt (MW) coal-fired power station in Ploce port's industrial zone. The project was cancelled after 90% of voters in a referendum rejected the proposed plant in January 2015.[4]
