Poitrel mine

{{#badges:CoalSwarm|Navbar-Australiacoal}}The Poitrel mine is an open-cut coal mine owned by BHP Mitsui Coal, an 80:20 joint venture between BHP Billiton and Mitsui. The mine, which is managed by BHP Billiton Mitsubishi Alliance (BMA), produced its first coal in October 2006. (BHP Mitsui Coal also own the South Walker Creek mine. The mine produces Pulverized Coal Injection (PCI) grade coal and minor amounts of thermal coal.[1]

BHP Billiton states that the Poitrel mine "has a joint venture agreement (Red Mountain Joint Venture) with the adjacent Millennium Coal mine to share coal processing and rail loading facilities. Poitrel has access to 3.0 mtpa capacity from the processing facilities."[1]
