{{#badges:CoalSwarm|Navbar-Australiacoal}}The South Walker Creek mine is an open-cut coal mine owned by BHP Mitsui Coal, an 80:20 joint venture between BHP Billiton and Mitsui. The mine, which is managed by BHP Billiton Mitsubishi Alliance (BMA), was commissioned in 1996 and produces Pulverized Coal Injection (PCI) grade coal and minor amounts of thermal coal. (BHP Mitsui Coal also own the Poitrel mine.[1]

South Walker Creek coal is "beneficiated at on-site processing facilities with a capacity to produce 3.5 mtpa [million tonnes per annum] of coal."[1]
