The Rainforest Alliance is a New-York based environmental group that was incorporated as a nonprofit organization in 1987. It has an annual budget of $20 million (as of 2007) and their website notes that they work "to conserve biodiversity and ensure sustainable livelihoods by transforming land-use practices, business practices and consumer behavior." [1]
The Alliance is listed as a partner organization of the Global Fairness Initiative.
