Shenzi Oil Pipeline is an oil pipeline in the United States.

Location

The pipeline runs from the Green Canyon Block in the Gulf of Mexico to the Ship Shoal 332B offshore platform, roughly 160 miles (257 kilometers) south of Houma, Louisiana.

Background

The 83-mile, 20-inch diameter pipeline has the capacity to transport up to 230,000 barrels per day of crude oil. It connects the Shenzi Oil And Gas Field in the Gulf of Mexico to the Cameron Highway Oil Pipeline and Poseidon Oil Pipeline systems at the Ship Shoal 332B junction platform, south of Houma, Louisiana, in the Gulf Coast. It was announced in 2006 and commissioned in 2009.

The pipeline had been built and owned by Enterprise Products Partners. In 2015 Enterprise announced its agreements to sell its offshore Gulf of Mexico pipelines and services business to Genesis Energy for approximately US$1.5 billion in cash, which included the Shenzi Oil Pipeline and Ship Shoal 332B offshore platform.
