The South East Open Cut Project is a coal mine project being developed by Yancoal Australia. The mine is located 14 km north-west of Singleton and to the south of Camberwell Village. The expansion, which is currently the subject of a feasibility study, is expected to produce 2.4 million tonnes per annum of thermal coal and cost $83 million to build. The project is projected to employ 100 people during construction and 160 when operating.[1]
