{{#badges: Climate change}}The Climate Group is a non-profit group supported by corporations and governments which states on its website that it is "dedicated to advancing business and government leadership on climate change".[1] The group is headquartered in London and has offices in the U.S., Australia and China.[2]

On its website The Climate Group claims that it "represents a new approach. Focused on solutions and positive collaboration across the government, business and non-profit sectors, we act independently of special interests and political affiliations."[1]

The group is involved with the Global Carbon Capture and Storage Institute, an Australian government project to reseach and commercialize Carbon Capture and Storage.[3]

Public relations

In June 2009, retained the public relations firm DKC, "to handle strategy and media outreach for Climate Week NYC," according to the Holmes Report. The September 2009 event "will bring together key business and governmental leaders together through five days of workshops, seminars, cultural events and other activities that will address the need for action on climate change." [4]

The Climate Group "previously worked with DKC on the media strategy behind two 2009 events: the announcement of Forward Chicago, a program that brings together the City of Chicago with the city’s leading businesses and nonprofit organizations toward the common goal of greening Chicago; and Switching Gears, an event examining the economic opportunities present for Midwestern U.S. states in the low-carbon economy." [4]
