BMA also manages two coal mines -- the South Walker Creek mine and the Poitrel mine -- for BHP Mitsui Coal.[3]

In September 2008 BMA bought 100% of the Saraji East project from New Hope Corporation. The project is an undeveloped metallurgical coal project located near Dysart in the Bowen Basin in Queensland.
