Background on Plant
In January 2011 Birla Energy signed an MoU with government of Gujarat during Vibrant Gujarat Global Investors Meet for the 1320 MW Birla Jamnagar power station.[1] In December 2011, the project received a Terms of Reference from the Ministry of Environment and Forests.[2]
As of March 2015 there has been no further progress on the project, and it appears to be shelved or abandoned.
