Borgolai power station is a proposed 250-megawatt coal-fired power station in Assam, India.

Location

The project has been proposed to be built at Udaipur village, approximately 20 kilometres from Margherita town in Tinsukia district. The map below shows the location of Tinsukia district but not the exact location of the project.

Background

Assam Power Projects Development Company is a special project vehicle created by the government of Assam in India to encourage private investment in power generation projects. The company was founded with with equity participation from Infrastructure Leasing and Financial Services (ILFS).

The company has been reported as proposing the Borgolai power station, a 250MW coal-fired project in Assam.

As of 2014 there are no permits or applications for the power station listed on the India MoEF website, and the project was likely cancelled.
