The Electricity Generation Company (Elektrik Üretim A.Ş. or EÜAŞ) is the Turkish government owned electricity utility which owns and operates the power stations which have not been not sold to private companies. Despite claiming environmental friendliness as one of its basic values[1] it owns Afşin-Elbistan, Çan-1 and Soma A (used for R&D) coal-fired power stations.[2]

EÜAŞ has proposed the construction of two new lignite-fired plants.[3][4]
