Bandırma Karat power station was a proposed 1,200-megawatt (MW) coal-fired power plant in Balıkesir province, Turkey. This plant was a proposal of Karat Elektrik.
This proposal should not be confused with the 1,600-MW Bandırma Nurol power station.

Background on Plant
In January 2008, Karat Elektrik Üretim ve Ticaret A.Ş. filed an application with Turkey's Energy Market Regulatory Authority (EPDK) to build a 1,200-MW coal-fired power plant in the Bandırma district of Balıkesir province. EPDK's records state that the "last date of appeal" was February 2008.[1]
No information is available on this proposal since these initial regulatory documents in 2008, and the plant was likely cancelled.
