Demirtaş power station is a proposed 119-megawatt (MW) coal-fired power plant in Adana province, Turkey.

Background on Plant

Beysu Enerji Üretim A.Ş. proposed the 119 MW coal plant for the city of Yumurtalik. The power station was one of several proposed plants in the region. In response, local groups filed a lawsuit challenging the plants. In October 2015, the production licenses for four plants were cancelled due to their cumulative health and environmental impacts, including Demirtaş. As of December 2019 the project had no advanced since the cancellation of the production licenses, and appears to be cancelled.
