Background on Plant
In September 2013, Nurol Enerji applied for environmental permits to build a two-unit, 1600-MW coal-fired power plant in eastern Zonguldak province. In the initial plans, the plant would have been built alongside a port and a cement factory.[1][2]
With the establishment of a state industrial zone in the area of this site, this project has apparently been superseded by the larger ZETES power project.[2][3]
