There have been two Bush administrations. The George Herbert Walker Bush administration (1989-1992) which succeeded the Ronald Reagan administration (1981-1988). The George W. Bush administration (2001-2008) consisted of (includes some members of Bush's White House Staff):

- Bodman, Sam: Samuel W. Bodman; Deputy Secretary, U.S. Department of Commerce; then Deputy Secretary, U.S. Department of the Treasury during Bush's first administration; replaced Spencer Abraham as Secretary, U.S. Department of Energy (DQ), during Bush's second term.
- Bolton, John R.: John R. Bolton, U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations; replaced John D. Negroponte during Bush's second term; to be replaced by Zalmay Khalilzad during Bush's second term. Bolton was not confirmed by the U.S. Senate.
- Bolten, Joshua B.: Joshua B. Bolten, Presidential Chief of Staff during Bush's second term; replaced Andrew H. Card, Jr., who resigned March 28, 2006.; previously served as Director, Office of Management and Budget (replaced Mitchell E. Daniels, Jr.).
- Cambone, Stephen Anthony: Stephen A. Cambone, Under Secretary of Defense for Intelligence, U.S. Department of Defense.
- Card, Andrew H.: Andrew H. Card, Jr., Presidential Chief of Staff during Bush's first term, resigned March 28, 2006. (RR + G1) Card was replaced by Joshua B. Bolten.
- Carmona, Richard Henry: Richard Henry Carmona, Surgeon General.
- Chao, Elaine: Elaine L. Chao, Secretary, U.S. Department of Labor (RR + G1)
- Chellaraj, Rajkumar: Rajkumar Chellaraj nominated to be Assistant Secretary, U.S. Department of State.
- Cheney, Richard: Richard Cheney (R-WY), Vice-President (GF + G1)
- Chertoff, Michael: Michael Chertoff replaced Tom Ridge as Secretary, U.S. Department of Homeland Security, during Bush's second term.
- Clement, Paul D.: Paul D. Clement, Solicitor General at the U.S. Department of Justice, replaced Theodore B. Olson, who resigned.
- Cox, Christopher: Christopher Cox, member Securities and Exchange Commission July 29, 2005, replaced William H. Donaldson, who resigned.
- Crocker, Ryan: Ryan Crocker, U.S. Ambassador to Pakistan; to replace Zalmay Khalilzad as U.S. Ambassador to Iraq. [1]
- Crouch, Jack D. II: Jack D. Crouch II named as Assistant to the President and Deputy National Security Advisor in the second Bush administration.
- Daniels, Mitchell E.: Mitchell E. Daniels, Jr.[2], Director, Office of Management and Budget in the first Bush administration; replaced by Joshua B. Bolten.
- Devenish, Nicolle: Nicolle Devenish, Assistant to the President for Communications in the second Bush administration.
- Donaldson, William H.: William H. Donaldson resigned as Chairman of the Securities and Exchange Commission June 1, 2005; replaced Harvey L. Pitt
- Evans, Donald: Donald Evans, Secretary, U.S. Department of Commerce (G2); replaced by Carlos M. Gutierrez during Bush's second term.
- Fleischer, Ari: Ari Fleischer, first White House Press Secretary (G2); replaced by Scott McClellan.
- Friedman, Stephen: Stephen Friedman, Chairman of the National Economic Council; replaced Lawrence Lindsey (G2) (resigned).
- Gates, Robert M.: Robert M. Gates nominated November 8, 2006, as Secretary of the U.S. Department of Defense; replaced Donald H. Rumsfeld, who resigned.
- Gerson, Michael J.: Michael J. Gerson has been nominated to be Assistant to the President for Policy and Strategic Planning.
- Gonzales, Alberto R.: Alberto R. Gonzales, U.S. Attorney General (U.S. Department of Justice) (G2) second Bush administration; Office of Counsel/White House Counsel (G2) first administration.
- Goss, Porter J.: Porter J. Goss, Director, Central Intelligence Agency during Bush's second administration; replaced George J. Tenet.
- Greenspan, Alan: Alan Greenspan, Chairman, Federal Reserve Board (RR + G1 + BC).
- Griffin, Michael D.: Michael D. Griffin is Administrator of the National Aeronautics and Space Administration in the second Bush administration, vice Sean O'Keefe, who resigned.
- Gutierrez, Carlos M.: Carlos M. Gutierrez replaced Don Evans as Secretary, U.S. Department of Commerce (G2), during Bush's second term.
- Hawley, Edmund S. "Kip": Edmund S. Hawley is Director of the Transportation Security Administration, U.S. Department of Homeland Security.
- Jackson, Alphonso: Alphonso Jackson, was appointed Secretary, U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development to replace Mel Martinez (G2). [3]
- Johanns, Mike: Mike Johanns replaced Ann Veneman as Secretary, U.S. Department of Agriculture during Bush's second term.
- Johnson, Stephen L.: Stephen L. Johnson is Administrator of the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency.
- Joseph, Robert: Robert Joseph is Under Secretary of State for Arms Control and International Security, vice John R. Bolton.
- Kaplan, Elaine D.: Elaine D. Kaplan Special Counsel, Office of Special Counsel(resigned); replaced by Scott J. Bloch.
- Khalilzad, Zalmay: Zalmay Khalilzad, U.S. Ambassador to Iraq since March 2005; to become U.S. Ambassador to United Nations, replacing John R. Bolton during Bush's second term. Khalilzad is to be replaced by Ryan Crocker, U.S. Ambassador to Pakistan. [4]
- Kempthorne, Dirk: Dirk Kempthorne, Secretary, U.S. Department of the Interior (nominated March 16, 2006) during Bush's second term; would replace Gale A. Norton, who resigned March 10, 2006.
- Leavitt, Mike: Michael Leavitt, Secretary, U.S. Department of Health and Human Services in second Bush administration; Administrator of the Environmental Protection Agency in the first Bush administration, replaced Christine Todd Whitman (quit).
- Lindsey, Lawrence: Lawrence Lindsey(G2), first Chairman of the National Economic Council (resigned); replaced by Stephen Friedman.
- Lute, Douglas: Douglas Lute, named as White House "War Czar" May 15, 2007.
- McClellan, Scott: Scott McClellan, White House Press Secretary (G2); replaced Ari Fleischer (G2).
- McConnell, John Michael: Mike McConnell to become Director, Office of the Director of National Intelligence, to replace John D. Negroponte, who is stepping down to become Deputy Secretary of State under Condoleezza Rice. [5]
- McGurn, William: William McGurn, Assistant to the President for Speechwriting (G2) during Bush's second administration.
- Martin, Kevin J.: Kevin J. Martin, Chairman of the Federal Communications Commission (G2), replaced Michael Powell (G2).
- Miers, Harriet E.: Harriet E. Miers, Office of Counsel/White House Counsel (G2) during Bush's second administration; nominated as Associate Justice of the Supreme Court; submitted resignation January 2007. [6]
- Mineta, Norman Y.: Norman Y. Mineta, Secretary of Transportation, U.S. Department of Transportation (BC); resigned and replaced by Mary E. Peters during Bush's second administration.
- Mueller, Robert: Robert Mueller, Director, Federal Bureau of Investigation.
- Nakayama, Granta: Granta Nakayama, heads the Office of Enforcement and Compliance Assurance (OECA), the enforcement division of the Environmental Protection Agency, during Bush's second term (G2).
- Negroponte, John D.: John D. Negroponte, U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations; next became first Director, Office of the Director of National Intelligence; stepping down to become Deputy Secretary of State under Condoleezza Rice; replaces Robert B. Zoellick, who resigned. [7]
- Nicholson, R. James "Jim": R. James "Jim" Nicholson, Secretary, U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs in the second Bush administration (U.S. Ambassador to the Vatican and former Republican National Committee chair); resigned July 17, 2007, effective October 1, 2007.
- Norton, Gail A.: Gale A. Norton, Secretary, U.S. Department of the Interior (RR + G1) in Bush's first administration; resigned March 10, 2006.
- O'Neill, Paul: Paul O'Neill, Secretary, U.S. Department of the Treasury in the first Bush administration (GF)(resigned); replaced by John Snow.

- Tschetter, Ronald A.: Ronald A. Tschetter nominated to be Director of the United States Peace Corps, vice Gaddi H. Vasquez, who resigned.
- Vasquez, Gaddi H.: Gaddi H. Vasquez, Director of the United States Peace Corps in Bush's first administration; nominated to be United States Representative to the United Nations Agencies for Food and Agriculture with the rank of Ambassador in the second Bush administration.

Notes on Member Listing
Since there are many figures in common between the Ronald Reagan (RR), whose Vice-President George Herbert Walker Bush (G1) inherited the White House, and the George W. Bush (G2) eras, the term Bush League has come into use to describe this group as a whole.
Several others come to the George W. Bush administration with experience gained in other previous administrations: Richard M. Nixon (RN), J. Danforth Quayle (DQ), Gerald R. Ford (GF) or Bill Clinton (BC)).
